I adopted Blaze from a small local rescue near San Diego. I had initially planned to adopt a 1-2 year old dog, but when I saw his sweet puppy face, I was sold (I like to say he picked me). He was 3 months old when I adopted him and I've had him now for 7 months. We had a lot of issues to work on when I sought out training, but our biggest issue was all things related to walking, especially leash reactivity. He was very reactive to both people and dogs and would lay down and refuse to walk or throw puppy tantrums by jumping up and biting at me or the leash. Many attempts at walks ended with tears of frustration or anxiety because he was barking and lunging at neighbors. |
